When you use the services of Explore routes (hereinafter referred to as Explore routes), we need certain information from you.

It is our policy to handle your personal data with the greatest care and transparency. We also process data, such as information requests, competitions and visits to our websites. The amount of data we collect depends on how you communicate with us. For example, if you book a trip with us, we ask for more extensive personal data than when you only request a brochure or surf our website.

Which data do we collect from you and what do we use it for?
We aim to give everyone an unforgettable holiday and that is the main reason for the processing of your personal data. We can collect, use, store and transfer different types of personal information about you. This personal data will only be used for matters relating to your booking. We also use third parties who receive personal data and process this information on behalf of Explore routes. These third parties include airlines, local agencies, travel guides, insurance companies and hotels. We only share data with external parties if this is necessary to carry out your journey.

Below is an overview of the data that we store when booking

 

Details about you: first and last name, address, gender, date of birth, meal preferences and other travel preferences.

Telephone number: it may be that we should contact you about your booking.

E-mail address: you will receive an e-mail with the confirmation of your booking(s) that you have made.

Identification documents: additional personal details are required for your trip, such as your passport or identity card details, including your passport number, place of issue, date of issue and expiration date. For some trips, a passport copy is required, for example for the preparation of your visa application or obtaining the required travel authorization.

Payment details: when you pay by bank transfer, your details are stored in our administration to link the payment to your booking.

Contact at home: while you are travelling with us, it may be that we need to contact someone residing locally. We therefore ask you to fill in a telephone number for this person in the booking form so that we can make contact in case of emergency.

We also use your personal data for the following
Details of your various contacts with us: you can call, email and approach us via social media. To continue to improve our service, we analyze all these contacts. For example, we also keep the data from your previous bookings.

The use of our systems and services: to analyze websites, make them more user-friendly, offer social media and show relevant offers both on and away from our website.

Newsletters: you can receive newsletters and other offers from us. It is possible that we look at your interests and previous bookings when making and sending them. If you prefer not to receive newsletters and offers, you always have the option to unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of the newsletter.

Competitions: if you have participated in a competition, we can contact you and inform you if you have won. We also use this data to analyze our competitions, helping us to make them more fun!

Review and survey: you can help other travelers with your review. By sharing experiences, you give others an even better picture of Explore routes or a specific journey. We review the answers you provide in our survey/feedback in order to further improve our services.

Tailor made advice: if you visit our website, like us on Facebook or make a booking with us, we remember what it is you like. We also use your data to improve our services and websites. Explore routes will request your permission as required by law.

Contact, check, change or delete data and complaints
Upon request, we will indicate where and how we process your personal data. Furthermore, you can request, correct, supplement, delete or protect this data under certain circumstances, for example if they are factually incorrect. Retention periods
